My Story

My photography journey began over 20 years ago. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in photography (that pre-dates digital photography… yikes that makes me feel old).

I opened a high-end boutique portrait studio in 2001 and have spent almost two decades photographing high school seniors, newborns, births, weddings, and headshots. As my career progressed, I went on to achieve a Masters of Photography Degree as well as a  Craftsman Degree. The Masters Degree is based on merit in international print competitions. It challenged my skill at a new level to compete against some of the best photographers in the world, which was a humbling experience to say the least. The Craftsman degree represents extensive teaching hours dedicated to enhancing fellow professional photographers' proficiency in studio and outdoor flash-assisted lighting, posing, Photoshop, marketing, and various other aspects. I’ve been lucky enough to have spoken at events nationwide, and had the privilege of meeting extraordinary artists throughout the years.

After moving to a new state, and temporarily redirecting my focus from portrait studios… I discovered a passion in food photography. With this discovery, I fell in love with my craft all over again!

Food photography has allowed me to combine my photography skills with something else I love do do… cook and create experiences in the kitchen. I’m a HUGE foodie! I’ve taken a professional baking course in San Francisco, and it’s always been a bucket list goal of mine to one day attend Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. What a dream!

When I’m not photographing, you can catch me enjoying my second passion which is travel. I’ve been to 48 states and 11 countries… my two favorites are Ireland and Peru. It doesn’t matter where I am as long as it’s somewhere new!
